May Is Military Appreciation Month

May 24, 2018 by Mike Brooks

At CBC, we consider every month military appreciation month. Our business has supported military veterans and veteran groups since we opened our doors. We understand the extensive contributions our military members make to our country. Many of our employees are veterans themselves, representing every branch of the military. We take pride in serving our local military community and contributing to groups serving this population. This May, we encourage all our customers and small business clients to take time to honor veterans.

Supporting Our Troops – Active and Veteran

CBC not only strives to hire veterans and active duty spouses, but we also have proudly supported the Wounded Warrior Project, Hope for the Warriors, Rally for Our Troops, the Navy Seal Foundation, Combat Veterans to Careers, and Folds of Honor. Each of these organizations has dedicated their work to helping active duty and veteran military personnel. It’s our honor to have the financial ability to contribute to these organizations and give back to those who serve us so honorably.

Memorial Day

Memorial Day is rapidly approaching, reminding us of the losses endured by the US military. The holiday was created to honor fallen military members who died serving in the US armed forces. It started as Decoration Day in the years following the Civil War and became a Federal Holiday in 1971. The holiday was meant to decorate the graves of fallen soldiers. It wasn’t until World War I that Memorial Day was established as a way to remember all military personnel who died in service. Though the dates and events surrounding the holiday have changed over the years, it has always been a time to honor those who have sacrificed their lives.

VA Home Loans

We love serving our military customers here at CBC National Bank. In addition to banking services, we provide military personnel with no-down-payment VA home loans. Veterans, active duty military, and surviving spouses can qualify for these low-interest loans. We understand the hardships and importance of military service, and offer flexible payment options and no penalties for paying off mortgages early. Many of our clients use enlistment or extension bonuses to pay off their home loans, and we are happy to assist. CBC also offers VA loan refinancing and VA cash-out refinancing. Our lenders take special care of our military clients, ensuring we meet their needs to the best of our ability. If you are considering purchasing a home, contact us to discuss options available to you and your family.
